From one Ruler to Another
Even now, their technology is far more advanced than most people can imagine.
It is true that some people are already living in a reality most people in the current technological timeline would regard as the future.
It is also true that the people living in the future (which they refer to as New Earth or 5D) can reach in and through the use of advanced technology alter the circumstances taking place on the planet they refer to as the old Earth whose inhabitants they refer to as "data."
It is also true that they can use pinpoint technology to locate a specific human and through the use of advanced and augmented intelligence tools simultaneously influence that human's feelings, behavior, actions, reactions, and decisions.
A fresh perspective
The infamous "Oscar Slap" illustrates the capabilities of their current system.
Rewatch that whole scene. Now, think through everything (and everyone) you saw. While observing, take the emotion out of it. Instead, think through the entire scene logically (meaning in this case "follow the money").
Now, did you see Will lose his mind and slap Chris? Or, did you see a demo of their most advanced technology, which is designed to alter and influence human behavior?
Is the "joke" on you?
Some say that the entire scene was a clever marketing tactic to introduce the idea of "parallel crossovers" for a super secretive Matrix-Marvel-Star Wars mashup, with Lupita Nyong'o in a crossover role, and Will Smith, reprising his "Independence Day" role as an alien slayer, helping the planet rid itself of this veil of evil that has permeated its existence since the beginning of time.
Or, should we say since the beginning of "fake time" -- because the "reality" we are currently experiencing is an artificial environment that was created and is controlled exclusively by "them."
Watch that scene again with everything said here in mind.
A completely different perspective will emerge.
