CAROUSEL, creative division, is comprised of writers, researchers, journalists, and investigative reporters engaged in creative journalism. We discuss some of the real risks associated with the development of AI and other emerging technology using fiction, entertainment, and creative writing as a bridge. The encounters we describe are real. However, we do not use real names and all discussions are fictionalized.
Importantly, we do not take ourselves too seriously. We use fantastical scenarios and non-traditional language, sometimes inserting jarring language on purpose to draw attention to some of the most pressing, most urgent matters.
